As we look back at 2007, our year was filled with tremendous success .... 714 members, a new and interactive website, Tri 101 was the stepping stone for over 100 newbies, Dick Hoyt and our special needs tri gave us all a reason to be thankful, a helicopter, our first road trip, a great season ending DVD, new "outfits and helmets", a gear store, international news articles about the club....whew! None of this could have been achieved without the support and dedication of each and every one of the TRI FOXES! We say Thank You and wish every TRI FOX a wonderful and safe and healthy new year and new triathlon season! We urge you to come to the meetings, go to our website, take FOX FOTOS, attend our weekly bike rides, lend your support, and always wear our colors with dignity and pride!

And now it is 2008 and we have a bazillion things to look forward to, so let's get going:

We start 2008 with our continuing participation in USA Triathlon's club competition...Amy Henning is leading us in a nationwide contest with other tri clubs to see who can log the most miles...UPDATE: we are 2nd in the nation when compared with clubs who have a similar number of participants...838 total miles for December. WOW!.we need more of you to log your miles...send your running and biking (spinning) and swimming miles to Amy at trifoxamy@gmail.com You're already training so why not send your totals to Amy...let's move up on the national scene! Simple and painless. Let's move up to #1!!!!!!!!

JANUARY 19th..Saturday..our next club meeting...10am at Homestead Meadows in Appleton. We are going to start taking orders for our new technical gear, too! Directions and more details to follow in the next few weeks, please plan to be there!

FEBRUARY 9TH: Our annual Ironride for Strongkids at the Appleton YMCA...this is a 6 hour (or any portion thereof) spin session...we have always had a great turnout and we've raised lots of money for the Y's program to help underprivileged kids! You don't have to be an Ironman to do this ride. You can sign up to ride for as long as you want...the important thing is that we are there for the kids and for each other! This is another great opportunity to meet and bond with each other...you can even put your spin bikes together in "circles of FOXES"!
Please email Jan to sign up jheifner@ymcafoxcities.org
We always have snacks and lots of "smack"!

FEBRUARY 10TH: Lambeau Field...stretching and strength training with the Packer's strength coach....we have the Legends room reserved thanks to a VERY generous donation from an anonymous TRI FOX! Be prepared to work your tush off....we did this last year and it was a blast!
We're working on an "outside spin" at Lambeau before the meeting and food afterwards! Order your technical clothes.

We will take our winter club picture in front of Lambeau...wear your gear!!!!

MARCH 9TH...MONTHLY MEETING: Luis Alvarez, the head of IRONMEX, Mexico's 3000 member tri club, will be our guest along with the 3rd place finisher of the very very first Ironman...Luis is traveling from Mexico City to make this presentation at no cost to our club!
