CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE?
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TRI FOXES!
TRI 101 IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER..NEXT WEEK!
We have had outstanding support from within our club ...the following is an important note about TRI 101.
ok....we may not be heart surgeons saving lives, or disaster relief workers in the face of a storm, but darn it, we are making a difference in peoples lives:)  TRI 101 starts next week, and we as a collective group of bright yellow, will give people the confidence, skills, and support needed for them to accomplish something great in their lives------the ability to wear full body spandex in public........oh and also to complete their first triathlon!    Times and locations are listed below. Looking forward to a great couple nights of meeting with so much ENTHUSIASM, CHEER, GOODWILL and YELLOW it will make your head spin:)   Kelly Jansen

FIND A FOX
TRI 101 is almost here and we still need YOU to help a Newbie FIND A FOX!   “But I’m not that experienced!”  NO problem…newbies need the encouragement of someone who’s been there, and if you’ve finished just ONE triathlon, you’re ready to help someone finish their first triathlon.  I’ll match you (the FOX) with one or two TRI 101 participants looking for a mentor (the KITS—get it?).   You’ll chat via email about once a week—there will be structured newsletters to get the conversation started, as well as reminders to dash a note off to your Kit—“Hey, how’s it going?”—just to keep the lines of communication open.  The time commitment is minimal—just an email about once a week from late February (after TRI 101) until High Cliff.
Ready to help a newbie become a TRIATHLETE?  To sign up to be a FIND A FOX mentor, send an email to findafox@new.rr.com with four key pieces of information:
  • Your name
  • Your gender (we'll attempt to match same gender Foxes and Kits)
  • Your level of experience (finished first triathlon, have a few under your belt, or several seasons of experience)
  • Would you be better with a highly driven and competitive Kit, a more laid-back "I just want to finish" Kit, or doesn't it matter
I’ll start the matching process after TRI 101 next week.  Contact Katy Sirovatka (ksiro@new.rr.com) with any questions.
